Friday 2nd May
This morning we went to the Engelbrecht Caves, which are limestone caves that are under the city of Mount Gambier. We did a tour of the caves which takes you down into two chambers where divers enter the water and dive under the city. The first caves were explored around 1884.
The Lady Nelson discovery centre where we did a self guided tour about the history of Mount Gambier.
Tonight night we went to the Umpherston Sinkhole, which was once a cave . It was created when the top of the chamber fell to the floor of the cave. They have now created a sunken garden. It is open from dusk to dawn. In the evening possums come out and you can hand feed them. We took some apples and Jesse and Emily hand fed the possums.
