Gold Coast

December 17th - 31st December

We are really enjoying our stay here at Kirra Beach. It is a lot quieter here at Coolangatta than at Surfers Paradise.

We went to Byron Bay for the day on the 18th December as Joanne, Ish and Jake and Ebony are staying here. We went there for the day and had some lunch. It was nice to catch up with some family.

The next day we went to Bundaberg and stayed with our old neighbours. They moved up there just before we left for our trip. We stayed at there house for three nights. We all had a really good time and they showed us around Bundaberg, Coral Cove and Bargara.

We might see if we can get some work here and come back after we leave Kirra.

We spent Christmas day this year with David’s sister Andrea. We all went to her friends house who lives in Redland Bay. It was nice to be around a family member on Christmas day. I was a little homesick today as this is the first Christmas I have not been with my family. We spoke to everyone from home so that was really nice.

 Xmas Morning

We have been spending a lot of time taking the kids to the theme parks. We have been to all the theme parks many times.

They have lots of different activities here at this caravan park for the kids to do which is really nice. Jesse and Emily are having such fun.

We have not been to the beach as many times as we would of liked to. There have been a lot stingers in the beach here, so we have not swum.

David’s friend Brendan, Kirilly and two children arrived in the Gold Coast on Boxing day so we have been to the theme parks with them.

We went to Wet’n Wild for the day on New Years Eve, with Brendan, Kirilly and the girls, Andrea also came. We then all went out for dinner that night. We were all pretty tired as we were at Wet’n Wild all day, plus we had to walk to the restaurant.

Gold Coast

Sunday 7th December – 16th December

We arrived at Kirra Beach today. We are staying at Kirra Beach Tourist Park until the end of January.

Another family that we met earlier on our trip are also staying here for one week.

We have a really nice site here at the caravan park. There are plenty of kids for Jesse and Emily to play with, with a big pool, playground and jumping pillow.

In the last week we have been to Wet’n Wild, Dream World twice and Movie World twice.

We got ourselves an annual pass so we can go as many times as we like. As we have already been five times it has paid for itself.

We went to Movie World first and Jesse was a bit reluctant to go on any of the roller coasters but by the end of the day he was going on them all. We took Emily on the Scooby Doo roller coaster and she was a little scared.

The next day we went to Dream World and Emily decided she now wanted to go on the roller coasters. Emily surprised us as we did not think she would go on any of the larger roller coasters.

The next park we went to was Wet’n Wild and we all had a great time there. The kids loved all the waterslides, and so did we.

On Tuesday we decided to go back to Movie World. Jesse took a friend that he has met in the park. Emily decided she wanted to try Scooby Doo roller coaster again. I think they all went on it about 5 times in row.

As I did not go on the superman ride last time, Jesse made me go on with him, and boy was that fast. Emily was not able to go on the superman ride as she was not tall enough.

Friday 5th December – Sunday 7th

We arrived at Kyogle today. The scenery it is really pretty around Kyolgle and the surrounding areas.

We are staying at David’s sister Andy’s. She is living in a granny flat out the back of a house. We parked our caravan up her driveway. We will be staying here for a few days

Once we arrived here we went straight to Andy’s shop. She spoilt the kids by letting them choose some toys from her shop.

Tonight we went to the bowling club for dinner with Andy.

On Saturday morning Andy had to work until lunchtime. Jesse and Emily went to work with her. They had such fun spending time with their aunty and getting spoilt in the shop. In the afternoon we all went for a drive to Nimbin.

Nimbin is a hippie town with the open buying, selling and consumption of locally grown cannabis on the streets and laneways. You can also be asked if you would like to buy a marijuana cookie. Jesse did not like Nimbin as he said it smelt funny. I wonder why!!

We also went to the Nimbin candle factory. The candles are made using the old age method of dipping each individual wick continuously to create a perfect candle.

We bought ourselves a few candles. If we were not travelling we would of bought ourselves more. The candles were just beautiful.

That night we had a beautiful cook up at Andy’s. Les who lives in the house in front of her granny flat and his friends organized it. They cooked roast pork, lamb, rabbit with some roast potatoes and pumpkins and veggies all in the camp ovens. It was really nice.
