Driving along the Nullabour

Friday 7th November

We got up early this morning as we have another long drive today.

We stopped along the Great Australian Bight to have a look and take some photos and I almost stood on a baby snake with my thongs on.

We crossed the border just near Eucla and are now back in South Australia.

We drove all day again and are staying at Ceduna for the night.
We were very tired once we arrived at Ceduna.

Thursday 6th November

We left Esperance early this morning.
We are driving along the Nullabour Plain. This is a very boring drive as there is nothing to look at.

We traveled along the longest straight stretch of road in Australia which is 146.6km

We drove 703kms today and are staying at a place called Madura over night. It is a roadhouse with caravan park at the back of it.

Cape Le Grand

Wednesday 5th November

Today we went to Cape Le Grande, which is not far from Esperance.

We thought the beaches in Esperance were beautiful but these here in Cape Le Grande would have to be the best beaches we have ever seen in Australia.
We went to Hellfire Beach first, then onto Lucky Bay, Thistle Cove and then to Le Grande.
The water was very clear, and such a nice colour. The sand here squeaked as you walked on it.

Hellfire was our favorite beach, it was just so beautiful.
It was a pity the weather was not warmer.

It is hard to capture on photo how nice they all are.

Tuesday 4th November

Today we arrived at Esperance. We went for the tourist drive loop around the coast. We drove past the Pink Lake, then onto the Eleven Mile Beach, Twilight Beach, Salmon Beach, Blue Haven and West Beach. The Coast here in Esperance is just beautiful. The water is very clear.

Hyden - Wave Rock

Monday 3rd November

Today we went to Hyden to see the Wave Rock. It is a two hour drive from Ravensthorpe.

It looks like an enormous wave that is ready to break.

Wave Rock is a granite formation over 15m high and thought to be over 2,700 million years old.

The wave is approximately 110metres long
